Joke of the Week / Thursday, May 24, 2007
A man was sitting reading his paper when his wife hit him round the head with a frying pan.

"What was that for?" the man asked.

The wife replied "That was for the piece of paper with the name Jenny on it that I found in your pants pocket".

The man then said "When I was at the races last week Jenny was the name of the horse I bet on"

The wife apologized and went on with the housework.

Three days later, the man is watching TV when his wife bashes him on the head with an even bigger frying pan, knocking him unconscious.

Upon re-gaining consciousness the man asked why she had hit again. Wife replied ...."Your horse phoned"

Some stories... / Tuesday, May 22, 2007
Heard quite a few army ghost stories from my friends... Picked up a few to share with you guys and I thought they are relatively spooky... I don't really know the story but I've captured the interesting part.

Story 1: The Shutter
I have no idea when this happened and who were involved in this spooky incident. This incident involved a Chinese and Malay NS man. One evening, as the Chinese guy were walking towards the shower room, his fellow Malay bunkmate approached him. With a relatively soft tone, he told the Chinese bunkmate that there is 'something' on top of him. As the Chinese guy does not believe with ghost tales, he ignored the warning and went straight to shower room. Sooo.... he turned on the shower tap and started bathing. What he saw is the most unforgettable thing in his life. He looked down on the floor and saw a reflection of himself and a female 'sometime' sitting on his shoulder. It was just like a scene from the movie, The Shutter.

Story 2: A good night sleep
Heard that it is best to sleep as early as possible when you are in the camp. I don't know the reason until someone told me this story. James (fake name) was unable to get to sleep as he still couldn't adapt to the NS life. While everyone was sleeping soundly during the quiet midnight, his mind didn't want to rest. All he could do was to rest his eyes and hope he will be able to get some sleep as soon as possible. As he was trying to get to sleep, he heard some noises from his bedside. *Thump *Thump ... He opened his eyes and saw a little ball rolling under his bed. Next, a little girl ran towards the direction of the ball. Instead of forging asleep, his eyes were still wide opened. That little girl saw him and immediately, she pointed her finger on him. "Ah Ma, this guy still haven't sleep." said the girl. Then the old grandma started to approach James......

Compass Event / Monday, May 21, 2007
Alright, stayed at home for the whole of Monday. Reason? I am too tired to travel around. Oh ya, on sunday, I spent my whole day @ the Swissotel. Asked Yiliang to accompany me as early as 11am for the preparation of the event. Btw, Yiliang was the photographer of the day. Woohoo. This event is organised by Compass and it is an award ceremony. There were lotsa music people such as Lee Shih Song, Lee Wei Song,Electrico, Corrinne May and etc who have attended this award presentation ceremony. Unfortunately, JJ Lin was unable to attend this event but nevertheless, there were still wonderful performances on the stage.

Spent most of the time at the backstage with two wonderful MCs, Danny Yeo (former Yes 93.3 DJ) and Serene Chen. They were very nice and we chatted quite alot while they were taking their break. Other than providing cue to the MCs, I was also the 'waiter' for these MCs. In the middle of the event, they were complaining that their stomach was playing with drums. Haha. On a occasion which I find it relatively funny was that there were an performance by Lee Shih Song's Music School's students. One of the song titled 'Smell of Lemon Grass' by Jolin Tsai were performed by the students. While listening to the song, Danny asked me if I know the Singer of this particular song. I told him that I have no idea. He was unconvinced and started complaining jokingly. I hit back with an friendly gesture, " Danny, how would I know who is the singer? You were an DJ and you have no idea of the singer?" Haha. Then he started complaining again saying that I'm trying to pull down his stage. Haha.

Overall, I did enjoy a little during the event. Thanks to the MCs and conversations in our walky talky. Alright, Below are some of the pictures taken during the event....

Are we smart on that day? Wahahaha.

Two babes and a Zero? Haha.

EQ test / Thursday, May 17, 2007
Hello all, I'm blogging again. Today is Friday and I'm sure that many friends of mine are awaiting for the weekends to fly in. Haha. Well, I'll be given a short one day rest for the weekends as there will be an event coming on the Sunday. Nevertheless, it's better than none right? Haha.

So early this morning, I went to do some IQ and EQ tests online. I'm pretty satisfied with my IQ level as it is above average as compared to many others :) Haha. If I'm not wrong, I scored 111 for my IQ. So to some of my friends and relatives, please don't ever call me 'dumb' ok? Hahaha. As for my EQ, I have expected it to be low. Below is an simple analysis of my EQ results:

I'm not surprised that I've scored so badly for my EQ test. I know I'm someone who cannot control my moods and emotional. I tends to let it run wild even though I realised that people around me are unhappy with my attitude. Especially in the morning, my face will be as black as charcoal without knowing the reason behind it. When doing project, if it does not meet my expection, I will turn crazy again. So most of my friends will have the love-hate or hate-hate feeling towards me. I know I can do better but sometimes environment does play a big part too. When the environment is slightly noisy in the morning, my blood will boil and I feel like shutting the fuck outta these people. And ya, I'm super annoyed when I see lazy or irresponsible minorities who couldn't be bothered with their daily responsibilities and tasks.

The main purpose of typing this entry is to remind myself to stop the crap. I've gone from bad to worse and happiness is drifting further. I don't think I'm so fuck up in 2 or 3 years back. I'm no longer as happy go lucky as I used to be. Is it the price that we have to pay as we get older? I don't know. To friends who are able to tolerate my nonsense, I'm glad that you guys still treat me as a friend. I will change and that's the promise to you people out there.

Note: I'm not depressed or unhappy, just that I'm not satisfy with myself. Haha, so friends, don't have to console me.

Complaining / Wednesday, May 16, 2007
Blogger finally back to normal. Well, as part of my morning routine, I went to read articles on the internet and found a pretty funny comments. Here's how it goes:

Complaint Queen 1: These mynahs can be rather annoying sometimes.
Complaint Queen 2: Mynah still alrite loh... crows are more irritating...
Unhappy Person: I have a mynah ........ very affection and loyal pets. As for them being irritating, well, I find some human beings alot more irritating. Animal don't know that they are being irritating, but humans know and yet still do it...

It's just so hilarious when you see this type of comment which targeted on complaint kings and queens. It's normal to complain and it's not weird that everyone of us do complain about unhappy issue. But, seriously, I don't understand why some people complain about small issues which doesn't not deeply affect his/her life. There are different level of complaint people and I have graded them into different categories.

Mild Complaint Person: People who complain very little and easy to solve the problems.
Normal Complaint Person: Normal people who complain slightly more but the complaints made are reasonable and needs a little more time to persuade them.
Complaint Queen and King: Complain alot and difficult to settle the problems with them. They simply like to complain to get the attention but somehow, they will still listen to you. Yeah, they will listen but they wouldn't agree with your point of views.
KPKB Siao Lang: This is the highest level of complaint people category. These people simply complain anything, even though it's none of his/her business. Their life is all about complain complain and still, complain. They wouldn't give you the chance to speak up and all you have to do is to stand there and listen to their chanting. Everything is just so right for them.

Having worked for many temporary jobs which were directly and indirectly related to customer service, I had met all types of complaint people. The most 'buay tahan' (unbearable) event I have encountered was during the Charlotte's Web Movie Screening @ Singapore Zoo. Tickets stated that the movie screen starts at 6pm and they assumed that it will start immediately. They tried to force their way into the seating area and started to complain and nag at the events crews. These people were such a woodblocks as they couldn't even think that 6pm is still too bright to screen the movie (Outdoor Movie Screening). What made my blood boils is that someone complained that the lighting on the ground distracted them. I informed my boss and we tried to solve the problem. As the lighting was too bright, I used my shoe to cover the lamp. The heat of the lamp was so hot that my shoe got half cooked. Suddenly, the movie screen turned black and everyone looked behind. I heard one CB bastard who said, 'Look, what you have done to the movie screen...' Initially, I thought it was my fault and I ignored him. Then my boss told me that he switched off the wrong switch. Haha. So I got verbal bombed by many CBs for nothing. Haiz, too bad, I should have yelled this back to that CB bastard, 'Look at what the event crews had done for you'. I got my shoe burned for nothing man. So sad that these people don't appretiate what the events people has done for them.

Anyway, I realised that I am complaining while typing the entry regarding complaining. Alamak.... What the hell man. Haha....

Friday Blues / Thursday, May 10, 2007
Good Friday morning everyone, well, I think most friends are asleep right now so don't bother about that. Haha. As usual, I took train to work and saw a really sweet looking girl. She sat beside me and somehow, I wish the train will breakdown in no time. Hahahaha. How I wish I have the courage to get her phone number. Haha. Anyway, I am not a morning person so I got no mood to do anything early in the morning. Hope to meet her again next time. Hehe. Sounds 'Tiko-ish' man. Haha.

Enough of the crap. Oh well, finally I have tasted the Four Season's Durian Pancake yesterday. Haha. Went to AMK hub with Esther yesterday for a simple dinner. Seriously, I don't know why there are so many shoppers in AMK hub daily. We waited for almost 20 minutes just to find seats at the food court (maybe due to inconsiderate people). After dinner, we went to queue up for the Durian Pancake. There is always long queue during that period of time. Anyway, the Durian Pancake is so damn nice la.... Imagine: Hot crispy pancake cake filled with durian. One bite on it, you can feel the cold bitter durian melting in your mouth. Nice nice nice. Haha.

Abit of entertainment for you guys. Do you know that there is a Disneyland in China? Haha, I think it is awesome and funny. Imagine you are able to see flattened Doraemon and shrinking Goofy walking around the fake theme park. Haha. The Chinese called their Minnie Mouse as Da Er Mao (Big Ear Cat?) LoL.

Joke of the Day / Monday, May 07, 2007
Four friends, who hadn't seen each other in 30 years, reunited at a party. After several drinks, one of the men had to use the rest room. Those who remained talked about their kids.

The first guy said, "My son is my pride and joy. He started working at a successful company at the bottom of the barrel. He studied Economics and Business Administration and soon began to climb the corporate ladder and now he's the president of the company. He became so rich that he gave his best friend a top of the line Mercedes for his birthday."

The second guy said, "Darn, that's terrific! My son is also my pride and joy. He started working for a big airline, then went to flight school to become a pilot. Eventually he became a partner in the company, where he owns the majority of its assets. He's so rich that he gave his best friend a brand new jet for his birthday."

The third man said: Well, that's terrific! My son studied in the best universities and became an engineer. Then he started his own construction company and is now a multi-millionaire. He also gave away something very nice and expensive to his best friend for his birthday: A 30,000 square foot mansion.

The three friends congratulated each other just as the fourth friend returned from the restroom and asked: "What are all the congratulations for?" One of the three said: "We were talking about the pride we feel for the successes of our sons. What about your son?"

The fourth man replied: "My son is gay and makes a living dancing as a stripper at a nightclub." The three friends said: "What a shame... what a disappointment." The fourth man replied: "No, I'm not ashamed. He's my son and I love him. And he hasn't done too badly either. His birthday was two weeks ago, and he received a beautiful 30,000 square foot mansion, a brand new jet and a top of the line Mercedes from his three boyfriends."

Singles / Friday, May 04, 2007
Have you guys even wonder why are there so many unattached people in Singapore? Heard from my boss that the Single Community is fast becoming an lucrative market to invest in. So not long ago, we did discussed about the reasons for this ascending figures. It's interesting, therefore I would like to listen to some of your opinion.

In Singapore, we are living in a society where paper qualifications are extremely important for individual status and future. If you wanna earn lotsa money, you will have to force yourself to study as much as possible. Nowadays, Diploma holders are flooding in the market as we have a total of 5 polytechnics in this small little island. Here is the normal route of the Singapore Education System:

5-7 years old: Nursery (Not really neccessary)
7-12 years old: Primary School Education (PSLE Certificate)
12-16 or 12-17 years old: Secondary School Education ( 'N' or 'O' Level Certificate)

By this time, student will choose the path of either going to JC or Polytechnic. I'll just take the Polytechnic Route as an example:

For girls:
17 - 20 years old: Polytechnic Education (Diploma)
21 - 24 years old: University Education
25 - 30 years old: Job searching, gain experience, work like cow and find the right job.

When you have enough saving to get married, it will be around 30 years old. It is considered a pretty acceptable age for you to get married. BUT, imagine....... Failure in the relationship? Then you will have to start all over again. Remember, it's not easy to find the 'right' person in life. By then, guess how old are you?

For guys:
17-20 years old: Polytechnic Education (Diploma)
21 - 23 years old: National Service (No Choice)
24 - 27 years old: University Education ( Depends on your will to become big salary man)
28 - 33 years old: Job searching, gain experience, work like cow and find the right job.

When you have enough saving to get married, it will be around 33 years old. Errr, considered young for a guy... BUT, imagine....... Failure in the relationship? Then you will have to start all over again. Remember, it's not easy to find the 'right' person in life. By then, guess how old are you?

Ya, there are several other options like the JC or Express path. But to majority who are polytechnic students, it will be hard for them to handle both relationship and work sucessfully. Therefore, most of the singles will focus on studying and working as priorities then comes the relationship. By then, they will be over 30 years old and it will be quite tough for them to find suitable matches. As the female are getting more independent and earn quite alot, most will tend to be choosy at finding the right partner.

Heard from my boss that even if you are an millionaire, there will be many successful ladies turning their back against you. They are looking more than just money. These people wouldn't want an millionaire kopitiam boss to be her partner. She might think that he is uncompatible as the social circle of people she met is opposite with those that he met. So it doesn't surprise me as that lady is still unattached at the moment.

Personality Test / Wednesday, May 02, 2007

You are a Builder

You are detail-oriented, cautious, and practical, making you a BUILDER.

You are excellent at focusing on the concrete, functional elements of things, so you're good at making things happen.

Pursuing novel ways of doing things helps you to be efficient.

You're great to have on a team, as you understand how things work and don't let your ego get in the way.

You're perceptive, down-to-earth, and realistic.

You don't see a need to commit to a set routine or schedule—you'd rather improvise a little.

Although you may doubt yourself sometimes, you have the skills and the curiosity to pursue broader adventures.

You like to consider a lot of information before making big decisions, and you think about that information in realistic, thorough ways.

You don't concern yourself with flashy styles or surface appearances—you're far too sensible for that.

If you want to be different:

Think more abstractly about things without abandoning your valuable sensibility.

You are Generous

Your awareness of those around you, along with your nuanced perceptions of the world at large, makes you the GENEROUS person that you are.

You value time to yourself and understand how rich your private world can be—you know that you don't have to go wild to have a good time.

You are excited and energized by ideas and often enjoy things more through observation than through experience.

This tendency gives you an appreciation for different perspectives and opinions about the world.

Being as aware of others as you are doesn't mean you find it easy to trust them immediately—this is something that happens more slowly for you.

Despite this, you are aware of the complexities of many situations and are reluctant to pass judgments on others.

Although you have fewer friendships than some people, those that you have are meaningful and are important to you.

You value spending time alone—it is while reflecting on the world around you that you often learn something new about yourself or begin to understand something that's been bothering you.

If you want to be different:

Given how attuned you are to others' thoughts and feelings, you might find that trusting people more is a way to broaden your perspective even further.

While you know how much can be learned from observing the world around you, remember that much of life can be lived by experiencing it, not just by understanding it.
